About the artwork
Artistic heir of the avant-garde of the early twentieth century with his decompositions and study of light through lines, in this work Marco Sciame retraces Klimt's iconic imagery through the highly original passages of his stylistic signature, resulting in an authentic and powerful interpretation of the artistic feeling.

About the artist
In 1992, his passion for drawing drove him to participate in the national "Fax Art" competition organized by Rizzoli's "Max" magazine, winning the competition with a work submitted via fax. In 1995, he enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in L'Aquila, majoring in Painting, where he graduated in 1999 with a thesis entitled "The Line of European Art: Malevic, Duchamp, Beuys, Klein, Manzoni, Fontana," with a grade of 110 cum laude. His Painting supervisor was Professor Francesco Delli Santi. In his final year at the Academy, he worked with Professor Giancarlo Gentilucci on the Performance course, which culminated in a final essay. From 1998 to 2018, he collaborated continuously with the master painter Tonino Caputo. His multifaceted personality is constantly evolving over time and nurtures different expressive paths. From 1990 to 2005, he worked as an illustrator, author, and comic book artist, and since 2006, his research has focused primarily on painting. In 2011, he began directing performances himself, collaborating with a diverse group of artists, from poets to dancers, actors, and musicians. In 2013, he returned to work as a comic book artist, creating a nationally distributed comic strip about the life of Gabriele d'Annunzio for the newspaper "Il Giornale." He has been the subject of numerous exhibitions and awards. He won the 2015 Premio Arte, the Targa d'Oro Painting section for the Arte Mondadori magazine competition, published by Cairo Editore, and the subsequent Premio Biffi. He was honored in 2016 with the donation of the work "Madre mia," which was placed in the main church of the Teramo hospital, following the exhibition "Credere la luce 6" at the Museo d'Arte dello Splendore in Giulianova. In 2021, he won the Mediolanum Prize at the Parma Art Fair. He has taught painting, drawing, and comics since July 2022 at the Accademia d'Annunzio in Pescara, and has taught an art history course and monographic courses on 20th-century artists since October 2022. Since 2021, he has opened the theater season of the municipality of Treia with monologues he writes and performs on the masters of art. Over the years, he has collaborated and written articles on art for the magazines Sipario, Abruzzo Impresa, La Dolce Vita, and Popular. Professor Vittorio Sgarbi, director of the Vittoriale Giordano Bruno Guerri, and art historian Claudio Strinati have written about him.
