About the artwork
About the artist
As part of the larger "Abruzzo sulla pelle" (Abruzzo on skin) project, Celestine represents Pietro del Morrone, who became Pope Celestine V, and who lived as a hermit in Abruzzo, leaving behind an important artistic and spiritual legacy, primarily hermitages. The man, depicted from the side, has a tattoo of the rose window from the Basilica of Santa Maria di Collemaggio in L'Aquila on his shoulder.
About the artist
Pasquale Ricci, born in 1981, lives and works in Castiglione Messer Raimondo, a beautiful village in Abruzzo. From an early age, he nurtured a passion for art, especially sculpture, a passion he cultivated during his art studies.
After art school, he devoted himself to creating numerous sculptures, in which he tattooed the great symbols of Abruzzo art on its skins. This is the artistic project "Abruzzo sulla pelle" (Abruzzo on skin) which he continues to pursue throughout Italy, with ongoing developments.
