With "tattoo", I expose the sublime pleasure that man has always experienced controlling nature, ceaselessly building that dream garden, this sacred space, our "territorial templum", within which is concentrated and exalted all that, outside the enclosure, is blurred and diluted in natural entropy.
Paradigm of paradise and metaphor of the relationship between man and nature. The skin, threshold of our body, limit, border between what is ours and this alien exterior, distant and strange.
Considering ourselves invincible in our increasingly large, complex and sophisticated garden, we (re)discover with astonishment that all the order we have created is nothing but chaos, that we find ourselves once again confined and at the same time exposed, to this alien nature and far from our comfort zone. Thus, we seek in our individualism the shelter of others, we weave relationships and social networks with the unique purpose of moving away from "the unrelenting black solitude of a starry and deserted sky" F. Pessoa.
Confronting the representation of a primordial space, original, green, almost virginal, with a principle of order, represented by map axes and quotations, the intimate grid, a just and sufficient principle that seems to give meaning to a new order in the face of the apparent chaos of nature. Wouldn't this be the materialization of a new beginning, of a new zero time that would bring us back to an original situation? The utopia of a second chance in the face of an uncertain future, a last exercise of conscience to finally reach a harmonious relationship with our environment, a dynamic of balance in which perhaps we will no longer need gardens?
