About the artwork
Goran Dragas, (b. 1972, Sisak, Croatia) graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, Department of Painting with a postgraduate degree in the Department of Graphics. His work mainly focuses on social processes and their consequences on the individual, analysing the phenomena of migration-post-migration and the deviations they can cause or do cause over a long period. His painting, made up of relatively clear and realistic details, transports us to an undefined and surreal time as if the scenes represented were deprived of their space-temporality, evoking a silent staging of the sites of memory.
