About the artist
Chen Yuxing, born in 1994 in a small town surrounded by mountains and rivers in southern China, studied Chinese classical painting since childhood. In 2013, she came to Italy to study oil painting and engraving techniques. She studied at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2019 for 2 semesters as an exchange student, then she obtained Master’s degree in Painting from the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice in 2020. Currently living in Italy as a professional painter. Most of the works are depicting Hardy banana plants, growing far from their origin. This plant is very common in her hometown in the mountains. When she was a child, her relatives often took photos standing in front of such a plant, so it was often used as an image of missing her relatives. The artist is always happy to observe every small detail of the plant, curves, brightness and shadow, stretch, breakage, and new buds. The artist treats plants as people with their own thoughts, thinking about possible emotions of plants. Give them unique portraits of the moment as a documented person.

Attualmente vive in Italia e lavora come pittrice professionale.
